What's New 2010
The new season brings price increases for both Baseball/Softball and TBall. The Prices are as follows:
Baseball/Softball - $125/player
Tball - $95/player
35% discount on the Second child registration
45% discount on the Third child registration
Family maximun of $225
Pee Wee - $50/player
Online registration fees this year will be paid by the League. In other words, if you register one child for Baseball, your credit card charge is $125, not $131.25.
Online registration is easier on the parent and easier on the league. The board would like to encourage online registration by covering the fees associated with it.
Umpires are paid every year. Usually the team mom gathers money from parents and pays the umpires. This year, the league will handle all umpire fees and scheduling. Yes you read it correctly, the league will schedule and pay for all umpires for Minor, Major-Minor, Major, Junior, and Senior divisions. Minor and Major-Minor umpires will be local umpires who have been approved by the league. Major and above will by umpires provided by a third party that currenty handles the interleague games.
There will still be 2 walk-in registration dates. Check the calendar for details.
Early registrations will close Feb 28, 2010 this year. Late registrations will be accepted online until March 19, 2010. Registrations will close on that date. Any child interested in participating can place their name on a waiting list. If enough players add their name and a Manager for a new team is available, a new team will be created and those participants will need to complete normal registration procedures. Please make sure your register your children early to make sure they have a spot on a team. This registration cutoff applies to Baseball and Softball only. Tball kids may register right up to the first game.
Minor Boys will be machine pitch all year.
8 Year old boys who wish to tryout for Major-Minor (kid pitch) can tryout. If they are drafted they will be on a Major-Minor team. If they are not drafted, they will be placed on a Minor team.
Minor Girls will be machine pitch all year.
9 Year old girls who wish to tryout for Majors (kid pitch) can tryout. If they are drafted they will be on a Major team. If they are not drafted, they will be placed on a Minor team.
Interleague Major Boys. This year FLL will interleague the Major Boys division in order to face some different competition for the year. Those schedules will be announced later.
There will be a Pee Wee division this year. The Pee Wee division will be available for 4 year old boys and girls. This will be a seperate signup and will play on the Tball fields. More information will be available on the Pee Wee page.
New coaching and umpire forms. There will be seperate sign-up forms for umpires and Managers. Please complete the appropriate form and you will be contacted by the coaching committee or the Umpire coordinator about your responsibilities.
If you are interested in Managing a team in any division this year, please fill out a form. The board will use that information to conduct the Little League National required background check. You may also be asked to meet with the coaching committee for a brief question and answer session.
New participants to the League can register online also. Just make sure you provide the appropriate documentation to the league before tryouts (March 20, 2010). Copies of these documents can be mailed to the league address, scanned and emailed to info@fruitalittleleague.com, or hand delivered at the walk-in registration times. If you register your child and do not provide the appropriate documentation by tryouts, your child will not be allowed to participate in practices or games until the copies are receieved and reviewed. |
